1977 Jeep Cherokee Chief Carb/Idle issue after intake manifold replacement, Please Help!?

Replaced the intake manifold and gasket in my 1977 jeep cherokee chief 401 6.6l. Replaced stock with an edelbrock manifold and edelbrock carb. Now if i have the throttle body bolted on it's idling crazy high, and if I disconnect throttle body it surges at idle pretty badly. I checked for vacuum leaks everywhere, and I didn't see any. Any advice would be appreciated, I'm really frustrated, and I'm using this jeep as my daily driver. Thought this would just be a few hour project to give her some more power.
