2 inch wedge heels to school?

Next Wednesday is the end of finals and it means we have just parties afterwards, and I want to dress up to celebrate. I've seen several other kids wearing pretty high wedge heels, but my friends disapprove of heels and the shoes are not completely stable, meaning there's a chance they could break or just fall apart. But it's a half day and of course I'd bring sneakers. Should I wear them? If so, should I wear just shorts or this knee-length black skirt I have? The skirt seems a little grown up but shorts don't really go with heels.
