Tutankhamun's Tomb Question!!?

In my ancient history cl we are studying Tutankhamun. We noticed on the wall paintings the Pharaoh Ay is wearing the blue crown (war crown) in the opening of the mouth ceremony. Why is he wearing the war crown?
