What is the best solution for slow play on a golf course?
'B' sort of. Courses that are plagued by slow play need on course marshals to time the groups and advise them when they fall behind the expected pace of play. Most courses are playable in a maximum of 4 1/2 hours or an average of 15 minutes per hole. If a group falls behind that pace the marshall will let them know how far behind they are and encourage them to speed up. If the marshall has to speak to a group repeatedly other options include moving the group ahead a hole, having them play from the 150 yard marker or as a last resort removing them from the golf course.
